It?s no secret that the Tokyo Motor Show has been struggling over the last few years. Bigger, brighter locales on the auto show circuit have stolen the spotlight, leaving Tokyo with fewer and fewer exhibitors and major announcements.

But there?s still hope for the show as it has decided to re-brand and head in a new direction. Organizers of the show are now billing the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show as the world?s top motor show for automotive technology.

Of course, there are still going to be plenty of cars on display. But the the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), which organizes the Tokyo show, promises that the focus will be on technology and how tech is shaping the automotive landscape.

One technology that will be the focus of the upcoming show will be on high-tech networking in tomorrow?s cars. This is one area where Japan?s automakers are excelling. This includes smart electric grids and interactive information technology systems.

The poster design for the show depicts competitive passion using heart motifs. Passions that thrive on cars, motorcycles, and their technologies are brought together in a friendly competition to shape the future. The poster represents a sense of anticipation toward this.

According to JAMA, automobiles, motorcycles, and their technologies are the outcome of competition between people involved in product development, aspiring to astonish and delight people around the world. Hopefully, the next Tokyo Motor Show will do a much better job of capturing attention and indeed delighting people on a global scale.
