p>Amitabh Poddar, starting with a Handicap of 3, scored 30 Nett points to emerge victorious, while Fukao Takahiro, with a Handicap of 5, was second with 28 Nett points, calculated under the Modified Stableford format in the Toyota Karnataka Golf Festival that concluded here Sunday.The 6-10 Handicap category saw stiff competition between Shishir Patil and KGA President Sumit Rathor for the top position. Patil, playing off a Handicap of 10, scored 35 points to prevail over Rathor (Handicap 10) who ended the day with 34 Nett points to finish a close second.
Bipin Shah (11), with a score of 35 Nett points defeated Amar Chawla (12) who returned 34 points in the 11-15 handicap category.
Adit Morzaria (18) turned in a great performance, scoring 39 points to finish on top in the 16-20 Handicap category, ahead of Chief Justice Vikramjit Singh (16) who scored 35 Nett points.
Starting with a Handicap of 21, Priyadarshi Harsha scored 38 Nett points to top the 21-24 Handicap Category, while A Zameer Pasha (24) was the runner-up with 36 Nett points.
The victorious team of two players will win a royal week-long trip on the luxurious Golden Chariot train.
One winner from each of the five handicap categories will represent India in the World Golfers' Championship, while the player with the best gross score, whose name does not feature in the IGU Order of Merit, will get an opportunity to play at the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Cup.
